What is Response to Redundancy?

Response to Redundancy is a programme which offers advice, guidance and re-training opportunities to those at risk of redundancy. It gives early support to review existing skills, and provides appropriate training to improve opportunities in the job market.

How do I access the training?

If you are eligible, we will help you select the most appropriate training programme based on your current skills and intended career direction.

We will then arrange a free one-to-one Information and Advice session with a skills broker. This will last approximately one hour and will be used to confirm that funding is available for your training programme.

How much will it cost?

For level 2 and 3 programme, Response to Redundancy funding can support the entire cost of the training. For a level 4 programme, a top up fee may be payable. Please contact us for further information.

When can I start?

As most of our programmes are online, there is flexibility over when you start. However, you must be fully enrolled on the programme before your leaving date.

What is Response to Redundancy?

Response to Redundancy is a programme which offers advice, guidance and re-training opportunities to those at risk of redundancy. It aims to support staff whose jobs are at risk. It provides funding to support training to better prepare them for the job market once they leave their current employment.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible, staff must be directly employed by the company. Temporary and agency workers are excluded. For sub-contractors, we would need to make separate arrangements with their employing company.

How do we access the training?

If you are eligible, we will meet with you and your staff to help select the most appropriate training programmes, based on their current skills and intended career direction.

We will then arrange for each staff member to have a free one-to-one Information and Advice session with a skills broker. Each session will last approximately one hour and will be used to confirm that funding is available for the training.

Where do the sessions take place?

Normally the one to one sessions take place on company premises; but if this is not possible we will arrange them at a convenient location for your staff.
