Best
Practice learning events are carefully structured to provide balanced
opportunities for learning and behavioural change through these five
processes. The
4R-A High Impact Learning Model™ acknowledges that the process is not linear, with
Resolution occurring at all stages of the learning process.
Reflection
- the process of reflecting on reality and
personal experience. Self-reflection is powerful and vivid as it stems
from and relates directly to the individual's experience.
Assimilation - the process by which new information and ideas are absorbed and
become learned knowledge and understanding.
Realisation - the process by which individuals reach new levels of
understanding and awareness based on assimilated knowledge and
self-reflection.
Rationalisation - the process of reorganising
learning and ideas to ensure compatibility with the individual's
circumstances and self-view.
Resolution - the process by which an individual makes
decisions about the application of new learning and future behavioural
change. Without Resolution, new
learning will have no sustained impact on behaviour and performance.
High
impact learning ensures effective and rapid assimilation of new information and
ideas. Through the process of Resolution, high impact learning
ensures the successful transfer of new skills and sustainable performance
improvements in the workplace. For
